Karen Wood
President
Karen (Kay) G. Wood founded Southern Research in 1993 and continues to serve as President and Co-Owner. She received a B.A. in History and Anthropology from West Georgia College and her M.A. in Anthropology (emphasis in historicResources that are 50 years old or older. archaeology) from the University of Georgia. In addition to running the company and supervising an administrative staff, she is the Principal Historian. Her expertise is in the history and archaeology of the Industrial Revolution in the deep south during the nineteenth century including grist milling, textile manufacturing, iron and coal mining, and paper manufacturing. Kay is an avid gardener and serious bibliophile.
