Gretchen Eggiman, M.S., RPA.
Principal Investigator
Gretchen is a Registered Professional Archaeologist who is a Principal Investigator at Southern Research. She received her B.A. in Anthropology, with a focus on Archaeology and Physical Anthropology, from SUNY Potsdam, and M.S. in Archaeological Resources Management from the University of Georgia, where her focus was the Late Mississippian Period in the Tennessee River Valley. With 20 years of experience, Ms. Eggiman has participated in survey, testing, and the data-recovery of precontact and historicResources that are 50 years old or older. sites in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, the Carolinas, and New York. Since joining Southern Research in 2011, Ms. Eggiman has worked in the capacity of Staff Archaeologist, Field Director, and now Principal Investigator and has been lead author or co-author of numerous reports. She enjoys sewing, roller skating, caving, backpacking and camping with her husband, Matt Wood, and all things food and cats.
