Diana Valk
Staff Archaeologist

Diana is a Registered Professional Archaeologist and has been practicing archaeology for over 20 years. She received a B.A in Geology from Oberlin College, an M.A. in Anthropology with a focus in Archaeology from Georgia State University, and an M.Sc. in Forensic Archaeological Sciences from University College London. She has worked in all phases of fieldwork, skeletal analysis, report writing, and mapping. Over the years, her work in archaeology has taken her throughout the Southeastern U.S. as well as New Mexico, Minnesota, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Additionally, she studied and worked in archaeology in the U.K where she conducted post excavation work for sites from all over England. Her research interests are bioarchaeology and funerary customs. Outside of work she enjoys running, open water swimming, knitting socks, and writing.
